Our marketing software bloat is getting worse. I see too many companies impacted by spending their limited marketing budget on tools that their teams use only 20% of. It is great if your entire team has Salesforce and Paradot for $12K a month but let’s look at low cost alternatives to put more of that marketing budget to work: dollars vs software.

Free Marketing Tools we recommend:

  1. Google Analytics – Power and free platform to measure all your marketing activities.
  2. Google Search Console – Drop a few of your SEO tools and get the data direct from Google.
  3. Google Keyword Planner via AdWords to research Keywords for Ads and SEO.
  4. Screaming Frog for small website SEO audits.
  5. Yoast to do SEO on your WordPress site.
  6. Grammarly for content editing.
  7. Canva for Photo editing.
  8. Marketing automation with IFTTT and Zapier.
  9. Google Alerts for staying up on your competitions latest moves.
  10. Feedly for content curation.
  11. Asana for project management.
  12. Google Trends for checking seasonality.

Lower Cost CRM alternatives to Salesforce:

  1. ActiveCampaign – Robust Email platform and light CRM system.
  2. HubSpot – It can get pricey but stay away from the Marketing suite/Emails and you can keep the price quite reasonable.

  2. Sendy running on Amazon for larger Email lists.
